                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE DOWNTOWN
                   AREA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, ON
                   TUESDAY, DECEMBER 31, 1991 FOR THE
                   PRESENTATION OF THE "KAREN LAWRENCE RUN FOR
                   ST. JUDE" SPONSORED BY THE SPORTS BARN,
                   UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of the southbound traffic lanes of Broad Street 

       between 2nd Street and 6th Street, the temporary closing of the
       northbound traffic lanes of Broad Street between 4th Street and
       2nd Street, the temporary closing of 3rd Street between Market
       Street and Chestnut Street, the temporary closing of the 
eastbound
       traffic lanes of 6th Street between Broad Street and Chestnut
       Street, the temporary closing of the westbound and the southbound 

       traffic lane of 6th Street/Gateway Avenue between Chestnut Street 

       and M. L. King Boulevard, the temporary closing of one westbound
       traffic lane closest to the north curb of M. L. King Boulevard
       between Gateway Avenue and Riverfront Parkway, the temporary
       closing of one northbound and eastbound traffic lane closest to
       the east and south curb of Riverfront Parkway between M. L. King
       Boulevard and Chestnut Street, the temporary closing of one
       southbound traffic lane closest to the west curb of Chestnut
       Street between Riverfront Parkway and 2nd Street and the 
temporary
       closing of one eastbound traffic lane closest to the south curb 
of
       2nd Street between Chestnut Street and Broad Street on Tuesday,
       December 31, 1991 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the 
presentation
       of "Karen Lawrence Run for St. Jude" under the sponsorship of the 

       Sports Barn, provided that the sponsor shall provide flasher
       barricades, road closed and detour signs and traffic cones in
       accordance with the traffic control plan attached hereto and 
shall
       provide, at all times, an access lane for fire and other 
emergency
       vehicles.
